Recently, I joined the I. Institute of Physics, University of Cologne, Germany. My work focuses on the characterization of astrophotonics solutions for spectro-interferometry at mid-infrared wavelengths.
Previously, I worked on an evaluation of Paranal atmospheric parameters for high precision fringe tracking in optical/infrared interferometry at the Observatoire de Paris, Meudon/ LESIA in Meudon, France.
Earlier posts were with the NULLTIMATE experiment, a nulling interferometer test bench located at the Institut d'Astrophysique Spatiale in Orsay, France, the long-baseline stellar interferometer IOTA, and the EPODS Project at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics in Cambridge, MA, USA.
As a graduate student of astronomy at the University of Heidelberg, I prepared my PhD thesis within the MIDI Project at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy in Heidelberg, Germany. Eventually, the "great" day arrived... :-)
You are welcome to take a look at my list of publications or a glimpse on the course of my life. :-)
In my link collection there are some interesting links for PhD students (in German).
