• Recent highlights:
– A study on isotopologs of oxygen-containing organic molecules with D and 13C in the star-formation region IRAS 16293–2422 employing the Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA). Many isotopologs have been detected for the first time in space.
Extragalactic detection of sulfanylium (SH+) and interstellar detection of 34SH+ in the z = 0.89 foreground galaxy in the direction of the quasar PKS 1830–211.
– Press release of the European Southern Obervatory ESO in Garching near Munich or the Universität zu Köln on the first detection of a haloorganic molecule, chloromethane (CH3Cl), in space, in the star-formation region IRAS 16293–2422, employing the Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA).
Extragalactic detection of argonium (ArH+) in the z = 0.89 foreground galaxy in the direction of the quasar PKS 1830–211.
– Press release of the Universität zu Köln or the Max-Planck-Instituts für Radioastronomie in Bonn on the first detection of a molecule with a branched carbon backbone, iso-propyl cyanide, in space, in the star-formation region Sagittarius B2(N), employing the Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA).
