The Cygnus X region is a template for massive star formation. It contains several OB-associations with more than 50 O-stars and a massive molecular cloud with a mass of a few Million solar masses at a distance of ~1.4 kpc. My research focus on the molecular gas component and photon dominated regions in Cygnus X. We performed a large survey in 13CO 1-0 using the FCRAO telescope and mapped selected regions (DR21 filament, S106) with the IRAM 30m telescope in molecular lines. The PDR tracing lines were observed with KOSMA, KAO, and SOFIA. See literature below for more details.
