The Mie Calculator (MIE) is a collection of routines which allow to compute the absorption and scattering cross section of small particles, their scattering matrices and the Planck averages of their absorption. The materials of interest may be characterized by dielectric constants or a set of oscillators which stand for the absorption bands. The scattering matrices are only computed for spherical grains, the other quantities may be obtained also for arbitrary ellipsoids in the quasistatic limit.
