At the moment, I am employed at SRON Groningen as instrument scientist for the HIFI project and simultaneously associated as an astrophysicist to the I. physics institute in Cologne.

My astrophysical research is part of the activities of the Kölner Observatorium für Sub-Millimeter Astronomie (KOSMA). It is directed towards the investigation of the structure of turbulent molecular clouds and the physics and chemistry of photon-dominated regions.

My teaching obligations vary from semester to semester and involve exercises, lectures, and smaller student projects.

I am involved in several software projects either directly related to my research or rather as free projects which arose as byproduct of computer use or learning.
